Expands medical professionals authorized to certify home instruction for pregnant students and students with medical conditions to include physician assistants and advanced practice nurses, in addition to physicians.

Modifies home or hospital instruction eligibility to eliminate the requirement that a child be absent from school a minimum number of days before qualifying, and allows instruction to begin within 5 school days of receiving medical certification.

Exempts private schools that do not utilize buses to transport students from bus evacuation drill requirements if the school provides written assurance to the State Board of Education by October 15 of each year, with immediate notification required if bus transportation is later used.

Allows school districts to designate Advanced Placement computer science courses as equivalent to high school mathematics courses to fulfill graduation requirements for students who have completed Algebra II.

Blanks out previous high school course requirements specified in sections (a) through (d) of the required high school courses section, keeping in effect only the requirements for students entering 9th grade in 2008-2009 and thereafter.
