Abolishes the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Task Group and transfers its site selection approval authority to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

Removes provisions requiring the Task Group to develop and adopt criteria for selecting a regional low-level radioactive waste disposal facility site.

Transfers responsibility for conducting public meetings and site evaluations from the Task Group to the Agency, which will now approve proposed sites directly.

Changes references throughout the Act from "Task Group" to "Agency" in sections governing site characterization, licensing, and facility development procedures.

Eliminates the Task Group's role in reviewing contractor reports and approving sites, streamlining the site selection and approval process to be agency-directed.
