SB1542 Summary

• Requires all persons filing statements of economic interest under the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act to disclose the name of any immediate family member who is a registered lobbyist.

• Defines "immediate family member" as a spouse, parent, child, stepchild, adopted child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, or grandchild.

• Adds a new disclosure item (item 6 in Section 4A-102) to the statement of economic interests form requiring this family lobbyist information.

• Updates the statement forms filed with both the Secretary of State (Section 4A-103) and county clerks (Section 4A-104) to include the new family member lobbyist disclosure requirement.
