IL SB1545

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to require insurers paying claims for vehicle damage or loss to issue payment directly to the repair business or to both the vehicle owner and lienholder of record when a lienholder appears on the vehicle's certificate of title.

Applies when the vehicle owner has comprehensive, collision, or other insurance coverage for damage or loss.

Does not apply to claims made by a lienholder when the vehicle owner has breached their obligation to maintain insurance coverage.
