• Mandates insurers apply prorated daily cost-sharing rates when necessary to permit synchronization, with dispensing fees calculated per prescription filled rather than prorated.

• Makes synchronization requirements applicable to health maintenance organizations, limited health service organizations, voluntary health services plans, state employees group insurance, county self-insured plans, municipal self-insured plans, school employee insurance, and Illinois medical assistance program.

• Establishes effective date as upon becoming law.
