IL SB1569

Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985 by modifying Section 3-3 concerning cosmetologist licensure for barber school graduates.

Makes a technical grammatical change replacing "that that" with "that" in the opening language of the qualification requirements section.

Requires barber school graduates seeking cosmetology licensure to complete 1500 hours of barbering study plus a minimum of 500 additional hours in cosmetology over 3 months to 1 year.

Allows applicants to credit study hours completed in other states, territories, or foreign countries toward the required cosmetology study period.

Maintains existing requirements including minimum age of 16, high school diploma or equivalent, passage of Department-authorized examination, and compliance with other Act provisions.
