Prohibits health insurers from requiring covered individuals to use non-abuse-deterrent opioid analgesics before covering abuse-deterrent opioid analgesic drug products with FDA-approved abuse-deterrence labeling claims.

Applies to group accident and health policies that provide prescription drug coverage, effective on the bill's enactment date.

Defines "abuse-deterrent opioid analgesic drug product" as FDA-approved brand or generic opioids with labeling claims indicating abuse-deterrent properties expected to deter or reduce abuse.

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code and related health insurance laws to require coverage for abuse-deterrent opioids, including requirements for state employee plans, county health plans, municipal health plans, and school district health plans.

Extends coverage requirements to Health Maintenance Organizations, Limited Health Service Organizations, and Voluntary Health Services Plans.
