SB1614 Summary: License to Work Act

• Removes Secretary of State authority to cancel licenses for failure to pay fees owed to Illinois Commerce Commission or for sex offense convictions under the Sex Offender Registration Act.

• Eliminates provisions requiring reporting to Secretary of State for truant, addicted, or delinquent minors whose driver's licenses were ordered suspended.

• Adds authority for Secretary to suspend or revoke licenses for criminal trespass of vehicles violations involving vehicle operation.

• Allows persons who become newly eligible for a driver's license, State identification card, or permit based on bill changes to petition Secretary for reinstatement without paying a fee, with decision required within 30 days.

• Repeals sections concerning suspension for theft of motor fuel convictions and suspension for unpaid toll violations/evasions.
