IL SB1678

Amends the Property Tax Code Section 21-75 regarding foreclosure procedures for delinquent property taxes.

For vacant properties, personal service is required only if certified mailing by the county sheriff is unsuccessful; otherwise certified mailing alone is sufficient.

Maintains existing provisions for tax lien foreclosure when taxes for 2 or more years have been forfeited to the State, including court procedures, redemption interest rates, and enforcement mechanisms.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
