IL SB1854

Amends the Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Coal Resources Development Law of 1997 by modifying Section 6-2 concerning legislative findings and intent.

Makes a technical change to the language in Section 6-2, changing "The" to "The" at the beginning of the General Assembly's findings statement (appears to be a minor grammatical correction).

Preserves existing legislative findings that renewable energy and clean coal technologies provide environmental quality, public health, and fuel diversity benefits to Illinois.

Maintains declarations that consumers, electric utilities, and alternative retail electric suppliers share an interest in developing environmentally preferable resources in the state's electricity supply portfolio.

Section 6-2 is scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2020.
