IL SB1856

Amends the Prevailing Wage Act to allow public bodies to satisfy newspaper publication requirements by posting prevailing wage determinations on their websites with a hyperlink to the Department of Labor's prevailing wage schedule, rather than only publishing in newspapers.

Applies this website posting alternative only when the Department of Labor ascertains the prevailing rate of wages for a public body.

Maintains existing requirements for public bodies to investigate and ascertain prevailing wage rates during June of each year and file certified copies with the Department of Labor by July 15.

Preserves all other procedural requirements including objection periods, hearings, appeals, and judicial review processes under the Administrative Review Law.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
