IL SB1885

Prohibits establishment or maintenance of any place of detention or criminal processing on school grounds in Illinois.

Defines "place of detention or criminal processing" as buildings, offices, or spaces operated by municipal police, county sheriff, or other law enforcement agencies where persons are held in detention, questioned for criminal suspicion, or taken into custody.

Defines "on the grounds of any school" as any structure or property owned, operated, or controlled in whole or in part by a school within the State.

Amends the School Code by adding Sections 10-20.60 and 34-18.53 with identical prohibitions and definitions.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
