IL SB1945

Allows school board officers (president, clerk, vice-president, secretary) to be removed by majority vote of all board members instead of serving fixed terms.

Requires school boards to appoint or elect successors to fill vacancies in officer positions when removal occurs or vacancies otherwise arise.

Applies the same removal and succession procedures to community college district board officers (chairman, vice chairman, secretary).

Officers of both school districts and community college districts may serve terms of either 1 or 2 years as established by board resolution.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
