IL SB2036

Increases the maximum speed limit outside urban districts from 55 mph to 60 mph on highways, roads, and streets with fewer than 4 lanes that are not interstate highways.

Increases the maximum speed limit from 70 mph to 75 mph on Interstate Route 355, Interstate Route 80, and all interstate highways west of Interstate Route 355 and south of Interstate Route 80.

Clarifies that urban districts do not include any interstate highways under the jurisdiction of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.

Allows Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Madison, McHenry, St. Clair, and Will counties to adopt ordinances setting maximum speed limits lower than those established by this Section.
