IL SB2042

Amends the Illinois School Code by adding Sections 10-20.60 and 34-18.53 to prohibit law enforcement detention and booking facilities on school grounds.

Defines "place of detention or criminal processing" as any building, office, room, or established space operated by police departments, sheriff departments, or other law enforcement agencies where persons are held, questioned, or detained in connection with criminal charges or allegations.

Defines "on the grounds of any school" as any structure or property owned, operated, or controlled in whole or in part by a school within the State.

Becomes effective immediately upon enactment.
