IL SB2171

Amends the Interscholastic Athletic Organization Act (105 ILCS 25/1) to make a technical change regarding representative voting requirements.

Prohibits public elementary and secondary schools from paying membership or dues to athletic associations that require the school principal to be the sole voting representative.

Allows athletic associations to permit school governing boards to appoint any coach, athletic director, teacher, principal, or school administrator as their voting representative instead of mandating the principal.

Provides that if a school's governing body fails to appoint a representative, the school principal serves as the default voting representative unless the governing body designates someone else.
