IL SB2231

Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act by adding places of worship (churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, and other places of worship) to the list of prohibited areas where concealed carry is not permitted.

The prohibition applies to any building, real property, or parking area under the control of a place of worship.

Licensees may still store firearms in locked vehicles or locked containers in parking areas, consistent with existing provisions for other prohibited locations.

Effective immediately upon passage.
