IL SB2271

Extends statute of limitations for sexual conduct offenses involving adult victims (18+) to one year after discovery when corroborating physical evidence is available, with charging documents required to state the circumstances justifying the extension.

Establishes 25-year statute of limitations for involuntary servitude, involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, and human trafficking offenses when the victim is under 18 at the time of the offense, measured from when the victim turns 18.

Creates no statute of limitations for criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and felony criminal sexual abuse when the victim is under 18 at the time of the offense.

Allows prosecution for failure to report child sexual abuse within 20 years after a child victim attains age 18.

Permits armed robbery, home invasion, kidnapping, and aggravated kidnapping charges at any time when arising from the same course of conduct as qualifying sexual offenses against minors.
