IL SB2285

Allows applicants without an Illinois driver's license or identification card to use valid military identification, Medicare, or Medicaid identification numbers when applying for temporary disability parking decals.

Authorizes the Secretary of State to issue one-time parking decals to non-residents with disabilities who are displaced by a federally declared national disaster and temporarily residing in Illinois, valid for up to 6 months.

Adds military identification numbers, Medicare identification numbers, and Medicaid identification numbers to the list of acceptable identification information for disability parking decal applications and fraud investigations.

Establishes that disabled veterans who initially submitted evidence of permanent disability are not required to resubmit disability evidence at renewal, though the Secretary must verify residency in Illinois.

Effective date: January 1, 2019.
