IL SB2302

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act to clarify that the Legislative Ethics Commission has jurisdiction over current and former members of the General Assembly regarding events occurring during their terms of office.

Extends the Legislative Ethics Commission's jurisdiction to current and former State employees whose ultimate jurisdictional authority is a legislative leader, the Senate Operations Commission, or the Joint Committee on Legislative Support Services, for events occurring during any period of employment.

Provides the same jurisdictional clarifications for the Legislative Inspector General over current and former General Assembly members and legislative branch employees.

Declares that these amendments are declarative of existing law and do not change the substantive operation of the affected sections.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
