IL SB2334

Requires the University of Illinois Hospital to maintain metal detectors at each public point of entry (excluding ambulance entrances) and screen all public visitors through them.

Requires all other hospitals licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act to maintain metal detectors at each public point of entry and screen all public visitors through them.

Exempts hospital employees who display proper credentials from metal detector screening.

Specifies that individuals in wheelchairs must be included in metal detector screening requirements.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
