SB2373 Summary

• Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934 by making a technical correction to Section 6-16.1 concerning enforcement actions

• Allows licensees to conduct sting operations or enforcement actions involving sales to underage persons if they provide written notice at least 14 days in advance to law enforcement or the local liquor control commissioner (or shorter period if set by municipal/county ordinance)

• Requires local liquor control commissions and units of local government to establish policies and standards for alcohol and tobacco compliance operations

• Directs the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board to develop model policies and guidelines for alcohol and tobacco compliance checks and establish minimum training standards for supervising officers

• Exempts home rule units with more than 2,000,000 inhabitants from the policy and training requirements, and prohibits other home rule units from regulating enforcement actions inconsistently with state law
