IL SB2526

Amends the Sex Offender Registration Act to add trafficking in persons violations (Section 10-9, subsections (b), (d), and (c) if victim is under 18) as sex offenses requiring registration for convictions on or after the effective date of this amendatory act.

Expands the definition of "sex offense" to include violations or attempted violations of trafficking in persons statutes when the victim is a minor or when involuntary servitude is involved.

Requires persons convicted of these trafficking offenses to register as sex offenders under the same registration requirements and procedures as other sex offenders under Illinois law.

Applies retroactively to ensure that individuals convicted of qualifying trafficking offenses after the bill's effective date are subject to sex offender registration requirements.
