IL SB2595

Amends Section 18 of the State Police Act (20 ILCS 2610/18) to expand the authority of the Director of State Police regarding truck weighing inspectors.

Permits the Director to authorize civilian employees of the Department of State Police who are not State police officers to serve as truck weighing inspectors.

Grants truck weighing inspectors authority to enforce provisions of Sections 15-102, 15-103, 15-107, 15-111, and 15-301 and subsection (d) of Section 3-401 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Authorizes enforcement of special permit provisions for vehicles or vehicle combinations exceeding maximum permitted size, weight, or other requirements under the Illinois Vehicle Code.
