Amends Section 22 of the Environmental Protection Act (415 ILCS 5/22) to make a technical grammatical change by removing a redundant article.

Board authority to adopt regulations remains unchanged, covering standards for refuse collection, disposal sites, hazardous waste handling, and resource recovery facilities.

Regulations may prescribe standards for equipment monitoring, contaminant discharge tracking, record-keeping, and data reporting by waste generators, transporters, and processors.

Board may establish alert and abatement standards for land pollution emergencies and requirements for closure and post-closure maintenance of hazardous waste disposal sites.

Board retains authority to prohibit disposal of certain hazardous wastes in sanitary landfills when economically reasonable and environmentally sound alternatives are available.
