• Increases the maximum number of physician assistants a physician can collaborate with from 5 to 7 full-time equivalents, with an exemption allowing more than 7 in federal primary care health professional shortage areas with a score of 12 or higher.

• Adds two new grounds for disciplinary action against physicians: entering into an excessive number of written collaborative agreements with physician assistants resulting in inability to adequately collaborate, and repeated failure to adequately collaborate with a physician assistant.

• Adds two new grounds for disciplinary action against physician assistants: entering into an excessive number of written collaborative agreements with physicians resulting in inability to adequately collaborate, and repeated failure to adequately collaborate with a collaborating physician.

• Allows physicians to collaborate with more than 7 physician assistants when providing services in federally designated health professional shortage areas, with physicians required to maintain documentation of meeting this exemption.
