IL SB2916

Amends Section 8-502 of the Public Utilities Act to include telecommunications carriers in provisions allowing utilities to use another utility's conduits, subways, wires, poles, pipes, and other property or equipment.

Expands the Illinois Commerce Commission's authority to order joint use of utility infrastructure between public utilities and telecommunications carriers when public convenience and necessity require it.

Prohibits the Illinois Commerce Commission from requiring joint use of infrastructure that is used exclusively for broadband services, interconnected VoIP services, information services, or wireless services.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
