IL SB2944

Amends the Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/2.15) to restrict release of arrest photographs before formal charges are filed.

Prohibits furnishing photographs from arrest records unless the individual has been formally charged by indictment, information, or complaint.

Maintains existing requirements to provide other arrest information (name, age, address, charges, arrest time/location, bail amount) within 72 hours of arrest.

Preserves exceptions allowing withholding of information if disclosure would interfere with law enforcement proceedings, endanger safety, or compromise correctional facility security.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
