IL SB2959

Requires the Department of Human Services to establish reimbursement rates that build toward livable wages for front-line personnel in residential and day programs serving persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mandates direct support persons earn a minimum base wage of $15 per hour, with other front-line personnel earning commensurate wages.

Defines "front-line personnel" as direct support persons, aides, front-line supervisors, qualified intellectual disabilities professionals, nurses, and non-administrative support staff.

Applies to intermediate care facilities for developmental disabilities, community-integrated living arrangements, developmental training programs, employment services, and other residential and day programs funded by State or Title XIX federal Social Security Act funds.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
