SB2970 Summary

• Allows class 1 brewers with self-distribution exemptions to sell up to 232,500 gallons of beer annually to retail licensees and to other brewers that sell beer or cider to non-licensees at their breweries.

• Permits distributors to sell beer, cider, or both to brewers, class 1 brewers, and class 2 brewers that sell to non-licensees at their brewery locations.

• Expands brewer on-premises retail sales rights to include beer from other brewers and cider in addition to the brewer's own manufactured beer.

• Requires applications for class 1 brewer self-distribution exemptions to be posted on the State Commission website for at least 45 days before approval.

• Modifies licensing provisions to allow class 1 and class 2 brewers to sell to non-licensees from no more than 3 total commonly owned brewer or brew pub locations in Illinois.
