IL SB3008

Increases the maximum tort damage award limit from $100,000 to $2,000,000 per claimant for claims filed on or after July 1, 2015.

Allows a single judge's signature to be binding for decisions in lapsed appropriation claims with motions or stipulations filed, and for Crime Victims Compensation Act claims.

Removes the requirement that one judge must decide emergency fund awards under the Crime Victims Compensation Act.

Raises the threshold for small claims record maintenance from $5,000 to $50,000 and increases the immediate payment threshold for awards from $5,000 to $50,000.

Adds authority for the court to direct immediate payment of unjust imprisonment claims from appropriated General Assembly funds.
