IL SB3020

Director of State Police, in conjunction with the State Police Merit Board, shall annually appoint between 1 and 3 cadet classes with a minimum goal of 50 cadets per class, beginning July 1, 2019.

Cadet class appointments shall continue until the Department of State Police's total sworn headcount reaches or exceeds 2,500 sworn officers.

Director shall maintain a minimum headcount of 2,500 sworn State Police officers and add officers as needed to sustain this level.

Governor, in consultation with the General Assembly and Director of State Police, shall review the number of State Police officers every 4 years beginning 4 years after the bill's effective date.

Director is responsible for the management and control of adding State Police officers to the Department.
