IL SB3056

Exempts honorably discharged members of the active-duty or reserve component of the Armed Forces who served in a combat mission from firearm training requirements for concealed carry licenses.

Requires combat mission service proof to come from hostile fire pay or imminent danger pay documentation.

Allows 8 hours of training credit toward the 16-hour requirement for active, retired, or honorably discharged Armed Forces members who have not served in a combat mission.

Allows up to 8 hours of prior training credit toward the 16-hour requirement if the course is approved by the Department.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
