Public Act 100-1075 Summary

• Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to submit quarterly electronic reports to the General Assembly by January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 detailing assaults on employees, employee injuries from assaults, injury descriptions, medical treatment, and days off work by service region.

• Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act to require quarterly electronic reports from the Department of Mental Health on workplace violence incidents, employee counts, injuries resulting from resident violence, and sexual aggression incidents at all state-operated mental health and developmental disability facilities.

• Modifies the Unified Code of Corrections to require quarterly electronic reports from the Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Corrections detailing staff assaults, youth/resident sexual aggression toward staff, staff injuries from violence, and related medical treatment and work absence data for each facility.

• Requires all three departments to establish reasonable procedures for employees to report work-related assaults and injuries and prohibits discharge or discrimination against employees for reporting such incidents.

• Effective date: January 1, 2019.
