IL SB3094

Raises the population threshold for cities required to have a sealer of weights and measures from 25,000 to 2,000,000 residents.

Makes the city sealer solely responsible for all aspects of the weights and measures program within city limits, removing concurrent authority previously shared with the Director.

Removes the requirement for city sealers to attend annual training workshops conducted by the Department.

Eliminates the Director's authority to test standards of weights and measures procured by city sealers and removes provisions requiring city sealers to submit annual reports.

Repeals Sections 9, 19, 20, and 21 of the Weights and Measures Act and removes language allowing city sealers to collect inspection fees.
