IL SB3175

Changes the salary cap adjustment for Chicago Tier 2 firefighters from the lesser of 3% or half the CPI-U increase to the greater of these two amounts, effective beginning in 2019.

Establishes the initial salary cap at $106,800 starting January 1, 2011, with adjustments based on the consumer price index-u for the 12 months ending in September preceding each November 1.

Amends the State Mandates Act to exempt this provision from requiring state reimbursement to local governments for implementation costs.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
