IL SB3222

Amends the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board Act to update board composition requirements in alignment with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act for appointments made on or after the effective date of the amendment.

Requires future board appointments to include 2 representatives from community-based organizations that provide competitive, integrated employment for individuals with disabilities, who must self-identify as persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities and engage in disability advocacy.

Mandates that reasonable accommodations be provided to board members with disabilities to ensure their participation.

Board must meet at least 4 times per calendar year, comply with the Open Meetings Act, and adopt rules and procedures to carry out responsibilities under state and federal workforce law.

Preserves existing tenure rights for board members serving prior to the amendment's effective date, with future members serving staggered 2-year terms.
