IL SB3265

Amends the Department of State Police Law by making a technical change to Section 2605-40 concerning the Division of Forensic Services.

Removes duplicate language by striking one instance of "the" in the opening clause of the Division's functions.

Renumbers the statutory section from 20 ILCS 2605/55a-4 to 20 ILCS 2605/2605-40 for organizational purposes.

Division of Forensic Services retains all existing duties including operating forensic science laboratories in Springfield, Chicago, and other locations statewide for toxicological testing related to deaths, accidents, and illnesses.

Requires the Department of State Police to establish administrative rules by June 30, 2017 setting standardized requirements for disclosure of toxicology results and related documents to ensure admissibility of evidence in court proceedings.
