IL SB3270

Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to expand the definition of "Category A offense" for bail purposes to include non-probationable offenses and offenses requiring 75% or more of the sentence to be served under truth-in-sentencing provisions.

Adds unlawful use of weapons and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon offenses to the Category A definition.

Includes Class 3 felony violations of Firearm Owner's Identification Card (non-eligible or revoked), violation of bail bond, and escape or failure to report to a penal institution as Category A offenses.

Maintains existing Category A offenses including Class 1, 2, and X felonies, first degree murder, and various violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code and Criminal Code of 2012.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
