IL SB3562

Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to require mandatory detention of minors age 10 or older arrested for vehicular hijacking or aggravated vehicular hijacking in an authorized detention facility until a detention hearing is held.

Removes vehicular hijacking and aggravated vehicular hijacking from the list of offenses requiring consultation with the State's Attorney before release (previously required such consultation for these crimes).

Mandates that minors detained for vehicular hijacking or aggravated vehicular hijacking remain in custody until adjudicatory hearing disposition if the court finds probable cause that the minor is delinquent and meets criteria for secured custody, likely to flee jurisdiction, or was taken into custody under a warrant.

Applies detention standards requiring separation of minors from adult prisoners and compliance with Department of Corrections monitoring and training standards.
