IL SB3575

Amends the Disposition of Remains of the Indigent Act to change the Department of Public Health's "registry" to "lists" of cadavers and qualifying institutions.

Extends the update timeline from 24 hours to 5 business days for new cadaver information.

Makes cadaver listings and associated information exempt from Freedom of Information Act disclosure, while allowing summary reports of aggregated data to remain public and establishing rules for family member access to information.

Changes the Department's authority from "shall" to "may" when designating institutions to receive cadavers and determining distribution when cadaver supply is insufficient.

Removes the requirement that the Department consider the relative proportion of student numbers at each institution when allocating cadavers.

Effective June 1, 2018.
