• Requires employers to provide medical billing addresses (mailing and electronic) to injured workers and providers upon notice of injury.

• Establishes 1% monthly interest on unpaid medical bills when employers fail to pay within 30 days of receipt (electronic bills) or 60 days (non-electronic bills) for which the employer is liable.

• Requires medical providers to submit bills within 90 days of providing services and mandates employers to send written explanation of benefits denying claims within 30 days of bill receipt.

• Authorizes the Department of Insurance to impose administrative fines up to $500 per violation (not exceeding $10,000 annually) on employers or insurers that intentionally fail to comply or repeatedly fail to comply with electronic claims acceptance and response requirements.

• Allows medical providers to petition the Commission if interest on undisputed medical bills has not been paid, with the Commission determining within 180 days whether interest is owed and ordering payment if applicable.
