IL SB3627

Amends Public Act 100-586 to redirect $180,000,000 from the Road Fund to the Illinois Department of Transportation instead of to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Appropriates funds for preliminary engineering, construction engineering, and contract costs for state highways, arterial highways, roads, access areas, and related infrastructure improvements.

Distributes the $180,000,000 across five IDOT districts: District 5 Paris ($23.4M), District 6 Springfield ($41.4M), District 7 Effingham ($27M), District 8 Collinsville ($57.6M), and District 9 Carbondale ($30.6M).

Authorizes expenditures for bikeways, land acquisition, signboard removal, junkyard removal, natural beauty preservation, and vehicle weight enforcement infrastructure such as scales and scale houses.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
