IL SB3644

Removes the requirement that school board employees' salaries be reduced by their military base pay when mobilized to active duty as members of U.S. Armed Services reserve components.

Allows certificated and non-certificated employees to continue receiving their full school board salary plus health insurance and other benefits during active military service without deduction.

Extends the same salary protection to teachers employed in Department of Defense overseas dependents' schools who are mobilized to active military duty.

Preserves employment benefits, service credit, and status for employees whose active duty commenced on or after September 1, 2001.

Permits more generous collective bargaining agreements or school board policies to supersede these provisions if they provide greater benefits to affected employees.
