Designates May 10, 2017 as Alpha Kappa Alpha Day in the State of Illinois to honor the sorority and its work.

Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as the nation's oldest African-American sorority, founded in 1908 at Howard University and incorporated in 1913.

Notes the sorority's mission to cultivate high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity among women, and provide service to all mankind through programs focused on educational enrichment, health promotion, family strengthening, and environmental ownership.

Acknowledges prominent members including Eleanor Roosevelt, Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, and several Illinois legislators and officials.

Highlights the sorority's 2017 Day at the Capitol focusing on three state issues: funding for elementary, secondary, and higher education; health care; and immigration.
