Recognizes Cystinuria as a rare genetic disorder causing kidney stone formation, affecting approximately 1 in 10,000 Americans

Acknowledges that most patients develop chronic cystine stone formation before age 20 and suffer complications including renal colic, kidney disease, and potential kidney failure without treatment

Encourages increased public awareness, education, and screening for early diagnosis, as well as support for research funding at Illinois medical centers to improve screening, treatment, and quality of life for patients

Calls on Illinois residents and interest groups to promote awareness and observe National Cystinuria Awareness Day
