Joseph W. "Joe" Barth of Bloomington passed away on June 18, 2018; he was born August 15, 1940, to John D. Sr. and Dorothy Baum Barth in Winfield.

Graduated from Trinity High School in 1958 and Illinois State University; married Sandra Johnson on June 14, 1969, and served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1969.

Taught at Trinity High School and Central Catholic High School for over 19 years while also coaching; worked as a professional photographer and served as an IHSA and ASA softball umpire.

Volunteered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, was active in the Cursillo Community and Bloomington Moose Lodge where he served as governor, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Sandra, three children (Joseph G., Jeff D., and Judy E.), five grandchildren, four surviving siblings, and sister-in-law.
