Illinois Senate expresses condolences upon the death of William A. "Bill" Wolf, born June 14, 1930, in Rockford.

Bill Wolf graduated from Belvidere High School in 1947, attended Lake Forest College, served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, and became owner/operator of Wolf Chevrolet Sales Inc. in 1962.

Served as board president of the Illinois Automobile Dealer Association in 1988 and as Illinois representative to the National Automobile Dealer Association for 19 years; received Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award in 1993.

Was founding member of Boone County Conservation District and Sister Cities Association, served as Belvidere Chamber of Commerce president, received its Doctor of Civic Betterment Award in 2011, and was active IOU Club member for 64 years.

Wolf was preceded in death by his wife Sara (married 66+ years), parents, son Thomas, grandson David, and sister Susan; is survived by four children, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brother Jack.
