Illinois Senate honors Joseph L. "Joe" Adler of Joliet, who died on June 9, 2018, at age 87.

Joe Adler was born August 30, 1930, attended Joliet Catholic High School and University of Notre Dame, and served in the United States Air Force at bases in Maine and Japan.

He was past president of J.L. Adler Roofing and Sheet Metal Company, founded in 1926 and now in its 4th generation, and past president of the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association.

Joe Adler was a founding member of Will County Habitat for Humanity and the Spanish Community Center of Joliet, and served on boards for the Vilaseca Day Care Center and Boys and Girls Club of Joliet.

Senate extends condolences to his large family, including three sons, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sister Mary Beth Wilhelmi.
