Honors Philip H. Barry of Elk Grove Village, who passed away on July 2, 2018.

Barry served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression and the United States Air Force during World War II as a technical sergeant maintaining radar equipment in Italy and Germany.

Employed by Teletype (now AT&T) as an engineer for 40 years and served as Elk Grove Village engineer starting in 1958.

Contributed significantly to his community as a charter member and board president of the Elk Grove Village Historical Society, 35-year member of the Sheila Ray Senior Center, active member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, and president of the Des Plaines Valley Geological Society for eight years.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to Barry's family and friends and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to his family.
